Prayer Updates

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to all of you for your prayers for our friend, Tony Greene.  You may have heard by now, but Tony went to be with the Lord on Tues. Sept 28.  He was surrounded by family and friends singing the songs he loved as he left this world.  Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family.  Please  continue to pray for them during this difficult time and even in the months ahead.  TaRanda and the children will need our love and support as they try to carry on without Tony.  Tony was one-of-a-kind and we will miss him.

I want to update you on  Jane Caldwell, the friend that was having brain surgery.   When the doctors removed the tumors, there were two instead of one, as they thought.  They were not imbedded in the brain and they were able to remove them successfully.  She had been told that she would need radiation because they didn’t know where the cancer had started.  After further tests, the doctors determined that there was no cancer anywhere!  Praise the Lord!  Her surgery was on Wed. and she went home on Saturday and is doing great.  Thanks for all the prayers.  Jane really was touched when we told her all of you were praying.

There is another lady, Mary Scott, who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer.  I told her husband that I would ask all of our prayer partners to remember her.  You all are so awesome to share the burdens of those you don’t know.  The family of God is a great family to be in and I’m so blessed to be in this family with you.

Sometimes we wonder if God hears our prayers, when we don’t receive the answer we wanted, like Tony’s healing.  Then other times we are encouraged by the outcome of answered prayers, like Jane.  I don’t have the answers as to why God chooses to take some from us and leave others.  But I do know that both of them are healed and  He does hear  and answer our prayers.  Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes the answer is no and sometimes it’s wait.  God has a plan and a purpose for all of us and even when we can’t see His hand we can trust His heart.  He only wants the best for his children.  When I pray, I don’t always get the result I asked for but God does something in my heart.  My faith grows. If we can trust Him with our eternal salvation, surely we can trust Him to walk with us through this life.  Keep praying and keep trusting!

Debra

Your letter was a blessing. Would you please include a little boy from our community on your prayer list. You can read his story on the http://www.caringbridge.org/thomasmusser website. His parents are wonderful Christian people. Thomas had a bone marrow transplant a little over a week ago and it is touch and go.
Where would we be without praying friends and family? Thank you for your faithfulness in spreading God’s word. You and your family are a blessing.

  2. Yes, as cancer survivors ourselves we know that God is faithful and answers prayers. We also have lost loved ones and know that our prayers aren’t always answered the way we wanted but know that He is always on time and knows the best!
We were so saddened by Tony’s passing but know that he is singing and joking in His Heavenly home!

    Debra,
Your words are always so uplifting. God blessed you with the gift of expressing yourself through words. It is hard sometimes to share my feelings because I do not always know how to say them. I too, agree that it is not for us to understand, but to trust God in these decisions. Know that you can always depend on our prayers, and I know God hears them because He has proven himself many times over to me. We love you and your family and appreciate your work for His Kingdom.

    Debra,

I will continue to pray for TaRanda and the Greene family and for Mary. God Bless your friend Jane. Thank you for the updates. Thank you also for your words of encouragement. It seems like that when you try to help some, you’ve also managed to reach out to all of us who are reading this. I appreciate your inspirational words. Thank you.

    Love,

    Lisa

I am a 54-year cancer survivor (age 11 months in 1956 of kidney cancer) and wonder sometimes why some like me are healed in their earthly body, and others like Tony are not. But as you said, Debra, we are healed regardless. Amen! God knows how to heal and He will do so in His own time and His own way. I will pray for Tony’s family and for your friends as well. We truly enjoy the Talley Trio when they come to my little town of Shelby, OH. God bless you for the message that you carry everywhere you go. This country certainly needs to hear of a Savior that brings joy, peace and hope to troubled hearts.

Hey Debra, after the convention I had surgery and they found cancer. They think they got it all but are still running some tests. I would appreciate everyone adding me to your prayer list. We are praying for a clean report this week. Thanks.

  7. Debra,

Tony’s death has sadden me and my family. We go to these gospel concerts and get to know you all like we live next door. I feel like his death was part of my family. Although, he was my brother in “CHRIST”.

My heart aches for Taranda and the two children. I put myself in her place because I lost my husband (he had a lung transplant in 2000 and lived a little over seven years ago) three years ago and I also lost my daughter little less than a year after I lost my husband.

I am so glad this world is not my home and I have a better place to go and we can be with our love ones and friends after this world is over.

I will keept praying for her and her family.

    Love and Prayers

    Linda

I saw you all at Mt. Olive last night and was so incredibly blessed.
I do have a prayer request that is urgent please.
My friends son is 22 years old and a few months back was diagnosed with brain cancer. He had some of his brain removed and was going for treatments. The last time he went for his chemo the doctor said he was too week to bring him to the hospital here and have him checked out.
well, the doctor at the hospital said he had a week to live, that was 2 days ago.
My friend is a believer and so is Rob (the son), and she is praying for a miracle and nothing else. That God would fix his brain and he would walk out of the hospital. The doctor said that for some reason his brain was shifting and he didnt know why. I belive God is healing him,
Please, please pray that he will walk out of the hospital and use his miracle to minister to others.
I went to the church last night for a blessing and all I could think about was her since you sang alot of songs about God’s healing power.
    Thank you all so much
    Yours in Christ,
    Lori

Update on Mary Scott, I spoke with her mother-in-law as her mother is elderly and in the -nursing home, hospital now. I talk to Mary about three times a week, I ask her mother-in-law what stage was Mary, replied stage 3 but cancer was in the flap of the skin and that might have put her in stage 4, per her mother-in-law. Mary is a sweet person and has such a tender heart and a wonderful christian with so much faith in God. I would love for you to pray and contuing praying for her as she will start chemo on Dec 8th for one year every three weeks.

    Have a blessed day
    Donna
