Happy fall, everyone!

As I write this, we are heading up the road to Indiana. Mom and I spent the day in Pigeon Forge, TN, participating in the Singing News Fan Awards and Hall of Fame ceremony. I opened the show with a special performance of “I’ve Got A Song,” along with Gordon Mote, and then presented three awards with Triumphant Quartet pianist Jeff Stice. A little later in the show, Mom and Triumphant Qt bass singer Eric Bennett presented three trophies. Good but long day….9 PM and I’m in bed already. I think I was in the fourth grade the last time that happened.

It’s been a busy few months for our family. September always brings Gatlinburg Gathering and the National Quartet Convention. We performed three times on the NQC stage and showcased our new “Love Won” project. Speaking of the new album, the first single, “Broken World,” is currently number 7 on the Singing News chart! We’re watching it climb….stay tuned.

My husband, Brian, has just begun full-time college classes, so that is keeping him at home quite a bit more these days. He is pursuing a degree in computer information technology. I’m so proud of him…not only can he sing, play 8 musical instruments, and write great songs (3 on the new record), but he’s got brains too….some people get all the talent!

Please pray for my grandfather, R.C. Talley, who has suffered multiple strokes in the last few months and is now in rehab. He’s 84 years old and his health has declined rapidly this year. Some difficult decisions ahead with regard to his care….keep him and us in your prayers.

We are looking forward to your visit to our Bridgewater Presbyterian Church in Beaver, Pa. on Friday October 26 at 7 PM. There are two songs I am requesting. One is His Life for mine and the other is Broken World. Please know my congregation has been in prayer for your family and ministry. May the Lord give you safe travels until we meet.

    In Christ, Pastor Bill

I want to thank Roger, Debra, and Lauren for leading us through your music ministry at the Bridgewater church. We were truly blessed by all of you and your heart for the Lord. I pray we can meet again, but until then the people of the Bridgewater Presbyterian church send their prayers.

    Hey, ya’all!
Happy Holidays from Kansas! Lauren, sorry to hear about your grandfather. Do you know that there are Caregiver sites on the internet that you can go to for being caregivers yourselves to info on navigating that long and winding road. I know about that road. I watched my Mom take care of 2 grandmothers, a close girlfriend of mine take care of an MD son, a diabetic husband, his parents, and his sister. The sister is the only one left on that side of the family. I’ve watched another friend take care of her parents, and now her daughters are having to take care of her. I hope you all have a great happy, healthy, and safe Holiday Season! Sincerely, Jane Hanlon
